Event Description
On 13 May 2022, a jury found Daniel Tonkin, Dusan Javanov, and Krishneil Chand guilty of multiple charges, including kidnapping, extortion with a threat to inflict injury, common law assault, and theft. The offences were committed against Alex Kovac between 10 and 11 April 2019, during which Kovac was abducted, assaulted, and coerced into seeking a ransom from his parents. Moana Ulutui pleaded guilty to similar charges on 15 July 2022.
