On July 8, 2019, Mr. El-Sheikh and his co-accused, Fabio Perrone, were intercepted by police while driving on Cumberland Road, Pascoe Vale. Upon searching their vehicle, the police discovered multiple bags containing cocaine and a significant amount of cash, leading to their arrest.
