Plaintiff claims that in teenage years the deceased (his mother) and his father (who died in 2005) made initial promises of inheritance of “half of the farm” on which he acted in various ways including forgoing the study of medicine and forgoing an opportunity of postdoctoral studies overseas to remain on the farm and provide assistance in respect of the farming operations which initially involved dairying operations
